Abstract

Deze vijfde druk van Toegepaste energietechniek is geheel herzien en geactualiseerd. Het boek biedt een inleiding in de wereld van de energietechnische systemen. Na twee algemene hoofdstukken over energietechniek en verbrandingstechniek wordt achtereenvolgens aandacht besteed aan de onderwerpen: warmwaterketels, zuigerverbrandingsmotoren, gasturbines, stoominstallaties, pompen, compressoren en ventilatoren, koude-installaties en aan geïntegreerde installaties zoals STEG. Bij de bespreking van deze systemen wordt uitgegaan van een systeembenadering, waarbij de nadruk ligt op de gebruikseigenschappen en -kenmerken van de werktuigen en energiesystemen. Daarbij is er ook aandacht voor het verbeteren van de efficiency en optimalisering van de rendementen om de milieubelasting te verlagen. Op de website bij dit boek www.toegepasteenergietechniek.nl kunnen docenten en studenten extra studiemateriaal vinden. Dit boek maakt deel uit van drie uitgaven die dankzij hun inhoudelijke samenhang en didactische structuur op elkaar aansluiten en daarbij ook afzonderlijk zijn te gebruiken: Toegepaste energieleer: Warme- en stromingsleer behandelt de theoretische basiskennis van de warmteleer, de thermodynamica en de stromingsleer. Toegepaste energietechniek behandelt de conventionele, meestal op fossiele energiebronnen gebaseerde energietechniek. Duurzame energietechniek behandelt de op duurzame energiebronnen gebaseerde energietechniek.

Abstract

This text presents the two complementary aspects of thermal physics as an integrated theory of the properties of matter. Conceptual understanding is promoted by thorough development of basic concepts. In contrast to many texts, statistical mechanics, including discussion of the required probability theory, is presented first. This provides a statistical foundation for the concept of entropy, which is central to thermal physics.
